Class Description:

In this class, your child will get a Circle Time experience including Calendar Time & Weather. In addition, we cover a complete Preschool/Pre-K curriculum.

You will receive a Weekly Lesson plan every week. It will tell you everything we are learning throughout the week, so you can follow along or reinforce the lesson. No supplies are required, it is recommended that you provide items on the supply list so your child can make the Art project. The items are usually common household items that you most likely will already have.

By the end of the school year, your child will know all their letters/sounds, numbers, shapes, colors, and be able to read CVC words and some special reading sounds. They will know Math skills from all of the Pre-K standards. They will have experienced many Science skills/experiments throughout the school year.

Here is the schedule:

Greeting Time Calendar Time (Month/Count the day/Day of the week)

Weather

Letter of the Day and Theme Introduction (letter recognition, phonics sound, how to write the upper/lower case letters)

Decorate the Letter of the Day (idea for you to do at home later)

Language Skills Activity

Math Skill

Music & Movement

Art

Science or Social Studies activity

Story Time

In my experience as a teacher in a traditional classroom, you can teach a lot in a little time when you homeschool. In traditional school, you must wait for everyone to get a turn, file in and out of the bathroom, wait for lunch time to be over, handle discipline problems… There is a of time that is spent doing things other than learning. I taught this same curriculum all day long when I taught Pre-K at a private school – the same content! With the exception of setting up Centers, your child will get the complete package! You can have them watch all at once or pause and watch parts throughout your day. It’s up to you! But in approximately 45 minutes, I can show/teach the skills needed for a complete Pre-K experience.
