You may have already downloaded my Family Time Fun Jar, but we have turned ours into a Summer Time Fun Jar. The kids enjoy picking one card a day (or at least occasionally when they get bored and are looking for something to do).
So far, we’ve enjoyed a spa, egg drop, made a craft (several actually), improv, baked something…

For the “bake something” card, we’ve made homemade red velvet cupcakes. Well, sort of homemade. We use a box mix for the cake part and then make homemade creme cheese frosting. It’s sooo easy to make and sooo much better than the kind you buy in the container.
Homemade Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe:
1 stick of butter
1/2 pkg. cream cheese (or 4 oz.) I buy the 8 oz. block kind and just use a knife to cut it in half. I wrap up the other half so I can make another batch later.
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
Creme together softened butter and creme cheese until smooth. I use an electric mixer. Add the powdered sugar a little at a time. Beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in the vanilla.
We enjoyed sharing these with a sick friend and will be making another batch today for a friend who had a baby recently. Maybe you could some of yours to bless someone too!
Happy Summer!
