I think that what people often do, is they avoid God because they have messed up. They didn’t tithe this week. They watched a movie they shouldn’t have. They gossiped with a friend at lunch. They beat themselves up and decide they don’t need another lecture from God’s Word – they can’t take it right now.
Then slowly they drift.
They ignore that little tug to come and meet with Him. Busy-ness helps mask that feeling. It gets easier and easier to push aside. They justify it with all manner of things they have to do – good things like work, spend time with spouse and kids, church responsibilities. They reassure themselves that those are things we’re commanded to do.
Resonate? I think most of us can relate, at some time in our lives or another. If this post catches you at such a time as this, please join me in stopping.
Stop. Just stop.
Sit down with your Bible. Just do it. Open it. Start reading where you left off.
I’m doing that now. I hope you are too. I know that you and I will be so very glad we did. Come back and comment and let me know about your time In His Presence. But, for now just…
Go.
