PRAY

 “Confession is acknowledging and agreeing that our sin was against Almighty God and that what we did was wrong.”

PRAY.

Great are you Lord.  To borrow words from a beloved hymn.  You are “Most blessed and most glorious the ancient of days.  Almighty. Victorious. Thy great Name we praise.”

God, I confess.

As a country, we have murdered millions of preborn lives.

I confess.

We have participated in and made immoral behavior such as homosexuality mainstream.

I confess.

We have treated the marriage covenant like a certificate instead of a binding promise to Almighty God.

I confess.

We have set idols such as materialism and self on the throne in Your place.

I confess.

We have told the Master Artist, Your work is not good enough and have decided to be the gender of our choice.

I confess.

We have not humbled ourselves and loved others more.

I confess.

We’ve left our first Love, taken prayer out of schools, pulled down the commandments and told churches they cannot gather.

I confess.

We’ve been lukewarm, sitting on the fence; hearing and not doing.  We sat when we should have stood.

I confess. 

I acknowledge and agree that what we have done is wrong.  But, I know it’s not enough. It’s not enough to confess.

We need an awakening.

And then, we need a turning.

We need repentance.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Awaken.

Forgive us.

Turn us.

Revive us.

In Your great name I pray, Jesus, Amen.
