Happy New Year!
It’s a new year and a new chance to commit to spending time with the Lord every day. That’s easier said than done, but I promise when you “seek first the Kingdom” you will be blessed.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33, ESV
Financial problems – seek first
relationship problems – seek first
hard to forgive – seek first
parenting decisions – seek first
addiction – seek first
health scare – seek first
He will give you the courage, strength, and whatever else you need. You don’t have to worry. You don’t have to be afraid.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34, ESV
So, make sure you’ve Subscribed to this blog because tomorrow morning at 6:30, I will post a Scripture reference for you to read that day. It will auto post to Facebook and Twitter, if you’d rather follow along that way. And, by all means, spread the word! This is all for His glory. It is my sincere and deep desire for people all over the world to experience what I have. I love the Lord so very much. He is my best friend. He has brought me liberality. I want that freedom for everyone. I’m still learning on this journey and grateful to a God who is everything and can do anything!
This is what the Lord says— who makes a way in the sea, and a path through surging waters, “Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:16, 18-19, HCSB
Tomorrow, we will begin in Matthew and continue through all the gospels. This is quite an undertaking and we will take it slow. Our eyes will be fine-tuned with the express purpose of finding out more about Jesus’ personality.
Don’t dare get discouraged if life happens and you miss some days. Just pick right back up the next day and keep going; dig into the verses for that day. The devil would love to lump guilt on you and try to make you quit. Don’t stand for that! We’ll find out when we study the Gospels that Jesus’ personality is not one of condemnation , but of unconditional love and grace!
What might be the benefits of studying Jesus’ personality? Comment below with your thoughts. I think we will discover He is relate-able and it will enhance our relationship with Him. We’ll see the comfort and healing that He gives each of us is deeply personal. I think this study will help us to see Jesus’ character as that of a beloved friend and so much more!

I want to test out the Comment function of this series. I think it will be so beneficial if we share insights we find from our reading each day. So, let’s practice today. Anyone who leaves a Comment today will be entered into a contest to win their very own physical copy of the In His Presence Journal, which will be spiral bound and shipped to you. It will also have an exclusive designer cover! Every person who comments today will receive the journal free in digital form. You can print it and have it spiral bound at your office supply store.
My favorite part of the In His Presence journal is the Weekly Prayer sheet where I start the week recording specific prayer requests for my family and friends and needs I’m made aware of. My very favorite part of this journal is Prayer Strategies section at the back. I turn there every morning and pray the one for my children as well as several others found there. The prayer strategies are based on Scripture so you can pray God’s Word over your family. There are prayers for yourself, your spouse, children, deliverance, etc.
Some of you may have participated in our In His Presence series on Mark or Romans. If you would like to learn more about how this works, read about it here.
I’m going to throw in one more little bonus this time around. I’d like for us to work on memorizing Scripture – two per month. I’ll toss out a suggestion, but you can memorize anything you want. There’s a place in the front of the In His Presence journal for recording these. I’ll also be sending out Scripture cards for your kitchen window.
Here’s the first one…
