They’d fished all night. They were tired. Their arms aching. They were getting discouraged. Nothing is happening. Nothing is changing. Should we just give up?
Then Jesus comes along. “Cast your net again,” He says.
This is Jesus we’re talking about.
They cast their net again.
Luke 5:5, “But Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.’”
And finally, a long awaited catch that was worth waiting for!
You’ve prayed day after day. You’re tired. You’re discouraged. Nothing has happened. Nothing is changing. Don’t give up.
Jesus tells you to cast again.
This is Jesus we’re talking about.
Pray again. Miracles do happen. The long awaited answer will be worth waiting for.
And when the person repents, show mercy and forgiveness.
2 Corinthians 2:6-8, “This punishment which was inflicted by the majority is sufficient for such a man, so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow. Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him.”
