This morning during my Bible time, I noted the times that Samson’s dad and he prayed in Joshua 13-15.
Manoah prayed the visitor would return to tell them how to raise their special son. (Joshua 13:8) God listened. (vs. 9) Samson prayed when he was thirsty. God split open the hollow place and water came out for him. (Judges 15:18)
These are simple prayers for things that affected these men in their every day lives.
Today, as we pray for big things like government and national healing, may we also pray for things affecting our every day lives. God wants to hear. He will listen. He will cause the hollow places in our lives to split and bring forth refreshment.
He will CAUSE the hollow places in our lives to split and bring forth REFRESHMENT.
Like I tell the preschoolers at church, “Prayer is not a rote rhyme, it’s a conversation.” Jesus wants to be the best friend that you can share anything with! If you don’t believe me, read Genesis and Psalms and see how these men after God’s own heart, Moses and David, prayed.
Have a blessed National Day of Prayer.
