Easiest Ever Mac and Cheese
I love simple and affordable meals. Here’s a little jewel that I found amidst one of my favorite magazines. Serve with pinto beans and corn bread. Yum!
It came from the October 2013 issue of HomeLife. Our church subscribes, so I pick mine up there, but you can subscribe here for only $4.80 each quarter. We especially love the Family Time section. This month’s theme is Kids of the King (You can trust God always to love and protect you). Awesome! You can download a free monthly calendar here.
It’s entitled Mama’s Mac and Cheese.
Ingredients:
8 ounces whole-grain macaroni
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk (I used 2%)
Dash of salt and pepper
2 Cups grated cheddar cheese (I used the already shredded bag)
Directions:
Cook the macaroni according to box directions.
Grease an 8-inch by 8-inch casserole dish. (I cut about 2 tablespoons of butter into pieces and put in the dish. I put the dish in the oven to melt the butter, then add all the ingredients on top of the melted butter.)
Mix the remaining ingredients with the prepared macaroni.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Allow the casserole to cool for at least five minutes before serving.
